She is also the wife of Michael Bennet, a politician who is a nominee for the Democratic party’s candidacy for the 2020 Presidential Elections.

Susan Diane Daggett was born in 1964 in Marianna, Arkansas, to Patricia B. Palmer and Jesse B. Daggett. Her mother Patricia is a painter and art instructor, while her father Jesse was a partner in a law firm in Little Rock, Arkansas – Daggett, Vandover & Donovan & Perry.
Daggett comes from a long line of her attorneys on her father’s side of the family.
Susan was raised in the delta of the Mississippi River, a rural and poor community, but her love for arts was instilled in her from a young age by her mother, Patricia.
With that passion in mind, Susan attended Mount Holyoke College, in South Hadley, Massachusetts, where she graduated magna-cum-laude with a Bachelor of Arts in History. She was there from 1982 to 1986.
From 1988 to 1991, she headed to the Yale Law School, where she became a Doctor of Law (Juris Doctor).
While attending Yale Law School, she met the man who would become her husband, Michael Farrand Bennet. Michael was also attending Yale Law, and the two were introduced to each other on a blind date.
Susan was engaged to Michael in 1996 after they moved in together.
Susan married Michael Bennet on October 25, 1997, on the Crystal Lake in Marianna, Arkansas, Susan’s hometown. The wedding was celebrated under a tent in a field, with extreme weather alerts of storms and constant rain.
She has three daughters with Michael – Halina, Caroline, and Anne.
Currently, she lives in Denver, Colorado.

From 2005 to 2008, Susan was an independent consultant, and served as co-director of the Rocky Mountain Energy Campaign.
