Fathom Events, BY Experience and National Theatre Live present a special encore of “Frankenstein” this Monday and Oct. 29. Directed by Academy Award-winner Danny Boyle, this production features both Jonny Lee Miller and Benedict Cumberbatch as Victor Frankenstein and his Creature. The Oct. 22 version features Cumberbatch as the Creature and the Oct. 29 screening features Miller as the Creature. The original production was a sell-out hit in 2011 and has since become an international sensation. Childlike in his innocence but grotesque in form, Frankenstein’s bewildered Creature is cast out into a hostile universe by his horror-struck maker. Urgent concerns of scientific responsibility, parental neglect, cognitive development and the nature of good and evil are embedded within this thrilling and deeply disturbing classic gothic tale.

Fathom Events and The Met: Live in HD present a broadcast of “Samson et Dalila,” Saint-Saens’s biblical epic stars Elina Garanca and Roberto Alagna in the title roles; the pair was last seen together in the acclaimed 2010 transmission of “Bizet’s Carmen.” Laurent Naouri co-stars as the High Priest, with Elchin Azizov as the Philistine King Abimelech and Dmitry Belosselskiy as the Old Hebrew. Darko Tresnjak, the Tony Award-winning director of “A Gentleman’s Guide to Love & Murder,” makes his Met debut directing the first new Met production of the opera in 20 years. Sir Mark Elder conducts.
